New Ship In Town

The Osprey Carrier out of Newcastle has been around for a few days now. Actually it came in for a day, went out again and came back a day or so later. It’s still there, moored by Morrisons rather than the shipyard, and seems to be loading some sort of heavy-duty installation. Oh, and it comes with a pair of matching tugs.

Funny how ships look less and less like ships these days. Anyway, a little research tells me that the Osprey Carrier was built in China: ironic really when you think its home port is one of the great shipbuilding centres of England, and has been sighted right under the nose of another one. A sign of the times.

  1. It’s something to do with the offshore wind farm. Some sort of distribution unit I believe.
