Don’t just do it…

There’s a new landmark down by the shipyard. A brand new B&Q. Not, I think, an architectural jewel bt a functional shed for piling high and selling cheap.

In front of it, on yet-to-be-redeveloped (and none the worse for that) former shipyard land, a colony of gulls have been busy raising this year’s generation of new gulls while rabbits graze contentedly around them. Always a pleasure to watch as I cross the high bridge. The gull chicks are now huge and starting to fly. It’s been quite entertaining recently to watch them jumping up and down, wings flapping as they try to get airborne. Once they get the knack, though, they are very graceful in the air. Alas, this land is earmarked for a marina. Profits before gulls, hey!

Click on the photo and look at it original size and you should be able to see gull chicks and rabits.

  1. Why does every thing have to be a marina! Money hungry profiteerers again.
