Hawcoat

We don’t all wear clogs and shawls up here you know, nor keep coal in the bath. There’s posh bits too. Well, a posh bit. As with many posh bits, Hawcoat is physically high up so its denizens can literally look down on the rest of us! But hey, it’s a long walk to the beach from here, and on the way back it’s a long way uphill!

(It can’t be all that posh because my Auntie Jean and her family lived down the road to the right at one time, before they all bunked off to Cheshire)

  2. What makes you think the denizens of Hawcoat would *walk* to the beach?
