The Ambrose Hotel

The Ambrose in Duke Street is Barrow’s only contribution to the 2008 Good Beer Guide. It’s handy for Craven Park, the Rugby League ground, and from the outside anyway it looks quite attractive with all those hanging baskets.

No great shakes inside but hey, it has the beer and we ought to be grateful for small mercies.

It still has those colours but I won’t be driving it ever again.

I envy the simple, quite peacfull life of Barronians since the fast paced Los Angeles Lifestyle grows really old after several decades.

  2. Beer ina pub. Beer in a pub that is not a chain. That’s just a novel concept that might catch on. I really should photograph the pubs here.
