Here’s another of the sketches for the theme day.

The gun shop, or howitzer shed as it’s sometimes called, stretches for half a kilometre along the north side of Michaelson Road. This is where the big guns were made for warships built at the yard. I like it best for its sandstone frontage and seemingly endless march of tall windows.

  2. I really like the uniformity of this building. It appears to be in really good condition, has it always been this way?

    On another note, I guess that Barrow was a target for bombing during WWII?
