Here’s another of the pictures from yesterday’s walk.

This is one of the jetties by the boatyard on Barrow Island. Through the structure can be seen on of the structures in the Walney Channel – I don’t know what it is but I assume it’s some kind of beacon marking the line of the deep channel. Beyond it are the Walney marshes, with Biggar Village clustered on its little patch of raised ground.

You can see more clearly than anywhere, I think, just how vulnerable Walney is to global warming.
