Abbey Road Zebra Crossing

A recent visitor, meeting me in Abbey Road, asked where the zebra crossing was. I had to rack my brains a bit – the old ceremonial avenue has many traffic lights along its considerable length, but I was hard pressed to think of a zebra.

But I’d forgotten this one, at Ramsden Square close to the library. There’s another on the other side of the roundabout too. Look closely, though, and you’ll see that Barrow folks don’t bother with such niceties, they just wander across the road when they can.
