Fishing Boats

The boats sit on the mud at low tide, with snow-capped Black Combe beyond. This was last week – today, which was an even clearer day but bloody cold with a vicious northerly blowing, all but a tiny patch was gone from the Combe although the high fells in the distance looked as if they had been iced like a cake.

These boats have been around and seem to be ending their days in Barrow. Only the leftmost, BW23 “Elainalee”, is Barrow-registered. The “My Lads” is originally from Leith and the “Boyne Vale” from Belfast.
